Sage 50 On-Premise Licenses (Pro, Premium & Quantum) has decided to End of Life (EOL) by January 1, 2023. After the end-of-life date, only subscription licenses for Sage 50 (Pro, Premium, Quantum) will be available going forward.

Why is Sage no longer offering perpetual licenses of Sage 50?

Sage is no longer offering perpetual licenses of Sage 50 so they can continue to focus their efforts on developing a more robust solution that is competitive with external offerings and matches the internal Sage product portfolio. To be clear, the desktop solution is not going away. They will continue to focus on cloud-connected benefits that exist within a subscription plan.

Here are the following options for you:

1. Starting January 10, 2023, you will be able to migrate your current perpetual plan for Sage 50 to a cloud-connected subscription at no additional charge. We will then be accountable to migrate your data over to your new subscription license.
2. All On-Premise customers will be entitled to one last 12-month renewal to the perpetual license, with the support period for such renewal ending no later than September 30, 2023. However, if you choose not to migrate to a cloud-connected subscription after the last renewal, you will be using an unsupported version of Sage 50. It means you will be unable to reinstall or reactivate Sage 50 US On Premise License. For example, the reinstallation will be unsuccessful if you upgrade the hardware and reinstall the Sage 50 US On-Premise License.

You’ll be able to use the product indefinitely, Sage 50 US Accounting Software On-Premise License, so long as you do not update your hardware, or operating system (to a major version), or add new installs.
